The new point of tension between Beijing and Washington is the claim that China is testing hypersonic weapons. The Financial Times newspaper wrote that China tested two hypersonic missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads while Beijing denied the claim.

The claim of the Financial Times once again increased the tension on the Beijing-Washington line.

The newspaper wrote that the Beijing administration tested two hypersonic nuclear-tipped missiles that could by pass the US air defense systems in the summer.

The Financial Times reported that the Chinese army tested these supersonic missiles on July 27 and August 13, flying in Low Earth Orbit and circumnavigating the globe before heading towards their target.

It was also emphasized that these missiles, which have the 'gliding ability', surprised the American intelligence with their feature ignoring the laws of physics.

Following the allegations, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said that Washington is closely monitoring China's efforts to develop advanced weapons systems.

Austin, however, did not directly comment on claims that Beijing is testing a nuclear-capable hypersonic missile.

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the spacecraft was tested, not the missile.
